I also am recovering from disc problems. I began with pain in my shoulder, arm and fingers in Sept. and was being treated for tendonitis. It was only getting worse so I was sent for x-rays and MRI. It showed that I had two bulging -4 and 5; 5 and 6 ,and 6 and 7 was herniated. The pain was unbearable and much worse at night. I went to the neurosurgeon at the beginning of Nov. and began taking naproxen 2 times daily. The first week of Dec. he sent me to physical therapy 3 times a week. The pain was still there all this time----I thought it would never go away!!!!My therapist put me in traction and taught me exercises to help make my neck muscles stronger. I never thought that it would work. Now it's Feb. --the tingling in the arm and fingers are gone---the pain has gone----the only problem I still have is muscle soreness in the neck area which takes time to go away. I hope that it does not recurr. I do not want surgery!!!!!My dr. says that I can golf again probably as soon as April. No overhead movements--swimming or lifting. He said that it takes months to heal. I hope that you are feeling better-----It does -----I didn't believe it would either.I do my exercises every other day and use a home traction unit 3 times a week. Hope this helped you.
