My husband had the uvp3 surgery you ask about and it did not work. It was a very painful recovery especially around the 7th or 8th day post-op. He now uses the cpap machine. It works for some people but the doctors had us believing it was a very high percentage of success and they even guaranteed that he would at least not snore anymore. I would like to send them a tape of him when he is sleeping and not hooked up to the cpap. Hope you make the right choice for you. Later another doctor told us that the real problem in my husband's case was the back of his tongue and that if your jaw is somewhat pushed back this causes the tongue to close off the throat. Just some things to check on before you decide.
