Missy
During the summer I miscarried at 12 weeks because of an empty sac pregnancy. Having few pregnancy symptoms, I thought I was just one of the lucky ones that skipped the first trimester's morning sickness. When the sonogram tech informed me that she saw neither a fetus nor a heartbeat I felt as though she slammed my whole body against the wall. I was completely surprised. I was later told by the doctor that the fetus never formed and that eventually I would miscarry the empty sac. I had no pains or bleeding before that. It is now six months later and my husband and I have just begun to try to conceive again. I have an intense fear that I will be unable to become pregnant or that this will happen to me again, even though I know of other people that have miscarried this way and gone on to have beautiful, healthy children.
