I had a stroke 4 years ago at the age of 46. It literally stopped my life, and I have been trying to rebuild it since. It takes a lot of patience. I read a lot, reach out through the computer and stay as active as possible. The worse thing for me is not being able to really be in charge of my life. I try in small ways to improve on that. I would recommend really fighting isolationism. That isn't easy. Good luck to you and the stroke survivor.
