This is a quick procedure and the recovery time is about 1 week. He will have to eat soft foods for about 5 days and after that return to his normal diet. My son had his removed and was running around the house that same day. We made him take it easy for a week and now he's doing just fine. He did not seem to experience any pain afterwards although he did have a fever some hours after the operation. We gave him tylenol and he was fine.
