my father does not present like the typical dementa patient. He has full long term capacity and is very articulate. Yet he cannot and will not process new information unless he can link it to old information. He's very angry with me the caregiver for putting him in a "home"..accuses me of wanting his money..and has been very abusive to me. He will make up what he doesn't know and is very good at it. This happened as the result of botched bypass surgery 3 months ago..having suffered mini strokes..starved himself half to death..he's 6 ft and now l24 lbs..won't cooperate with the physical thereapists and says they never ask him. He's delusional in that he thinks he can walk. He's been in bed 3 months and hates to get up. He's been transfered to an Alzheimers unit and truthfully he's unlike anyone there..he's too articulate even when he's making stuff up. Anyone else had this? I just don't know what to expect? Thanks
