Have you had your child to a gastroenterologist? Has the child had an endoscopy and a biopsy of the small bowel. I had these VERY same symptoms and the very same diagnosis when I was 5 years old, I am now almost 47. Two years ago, after life long suffering, the worst being the three years prior to my last endoscopy, I was found to have Celiac Disease! Altho it is not often heard of, it has been found thru recent research to be more common than asthma! Current studies indicate that as many as 1 out of 220 people have it and do not know. As a result of my not being diagnosed years ago, I now have VERY severe osteoporosis and have suffered from severe chronic iron-deficiency anemia for which I can only receive I.V. infusions of to replace the iron. The reason: Celiac Disease will destroy the small bowel and cause an inability to absorb nutrients. I was once a very successful banker and now sit on disabity. Please research Celiac Disease on the web. There is a lot of information. And please do not be fooled...some of the most common symptoms are not always present. Most commonly diarrhea. I suffered, and still do, from quite the opposite. I'd be interested in "talking" to you further. Feel free to contact me.
