Hi, my husband has suffered from gout for years and he is only 34. He used indo to start with;colchicine had too many side effects. The MD started him on allupurinol which also did not help the attacks at first. He is now taking Vioxx for the pain (during a full-blown attack) and for breakthrough pain while on allopurinol. He has had major relief in as little as 12 hours. I hope you find a solution as it is very painful.
