Not for anything, I would look into safer nutritional, and/or alternative treatments for this, I don't care how "hyper" or "ADD" my son appears, I will NEVER medicate him with the drugs tradtionally used. It can destroy they're personality and cause cardiac side-effects! I won't even let my husband take them! (He has adult ADD, never treated properly as a child) My husband was on Ritalin, and now he has minor heart problems. I'm fortunate my son goes to a school that DOESN'T favor prescription drugs for these problems, theirs is mostly a cognitive/spiritual/nutritional approach! This way is the harder way, it takes mounds of work and patience. However, in cases where the child is completely out-of-control......I do understand that meds ALONG with other psych treatment is sometimes in order.
