Hello, My daughter was diagnosed with ADD at age 5 years and she is now 9 years. We started her meds with Ritalin, 5mg. She too looked like a zomby. We now have her on Adderall 5mg. It is much better! Adderall is time released so it gradually increases and decreases throughout the day. On ritalin, my daughter went straight from being spacey to ADD behavior. What a difference!! Also, I take her to a child psychologist who is helping me to regulate her medication. This person is great, no deep counseling or anything,she just asks me behavior and emotional questions. She also talks to my daughter about making good choices with her behavior. Child Psychologist focus on behaviors and also can issue out medications. I sure hope this helps. Feel free to contact me.
