About mid December I started with this burning, sensitive, itching condition all over my body. The funny part is I first noticed my skin being very sensitive to the air especially once I got home from work. I would get chills just having a T-Shirt on. The house temperature would be 70 degrees not as if it was cold. To make a long story short, it went from that stage to where it is now...HORRIBLE ITCHING. One could better describe it as a feeling of having a sunburn on their back, like the skin is taunt, tight, and tender, or another way to describe it would be the nerve endings feel like they were close to the skin surface. This condition is all over but mostly on my back, and stomach, I have been to several Drs.... Dermatologists, Allergists, had a lot of different tests, (i.e.) extensive blood work, urine tests, kidney, bladder and spleen ultrasounds, all of which came back normal, for which I am thankful but the fact remains, it is still there. Just as recent as yesterday (18 April)I noticed little red dots, almost like rashes on both sides of my stomach where it had been itching previously. My primary physician is calling this condition "Neuro-Dermatitis", and he wants me to take an extra xanax (3daily .25mg). Cortizone Creams, Lubriderm Lotion, special soaps and fewer showers are only giving temporary relief. Does anybody out there know what Neuro-Dermatitis is, or is it all in my mind. I don't think I am imagining this. Need some help....any suggestions? Gary E.
