Hi Dionne. A MRI might be a good idea for you and might help you find some answers. I know how frustrating it is when you know there is something wrong but not sure what it is. I had pain in my shoulder girdle area for 2 years before my problem was discovered. It was when i went for a 5th opinion! I did not have pain in my shoulder when I moved it up and down and that is how the doctor figured it was referred from my neck or skull area. This fibrous dysplasia I'm not sure can be fixed. I did have a biopsy to make sure we weren't dealing with something else. Glad thats over! Surgery is a last resort. I am going to try a new drug that might help the pain and get the bone formation under control. I found a wonderful doctor at the metabolic bone clinic at Mayos. Is the Celebrex helping at all? Before I got a correct diagnosis I tried different meds, cortisone shots and PT but nothing helped. I think that is how I knew deep down it was something else. My advice would be to get a MRI or bone scan and if you don't get answers find another doctor. Good luck
