I have had cellulitis for one week. I know how much pain that you are in. In the ER they ave me an iv solution of ocxillin a 2 gram dose. Then they sent me home with some Kelex 500 mg tabs. They also drew a line around the infection and said it it spread to come back and they would give me some other medicine. Well it sperad and I had to go into the hospital for 2 days and get the same medicine for 4 doese. They sent me home with this other medicine called DICLORAXCILLIN something like that. They told me to stay off it and to keep it up on a pillow, that seem like it is working. I can walk a bit better but the swelling and the pain are still there. If I put some ice on it tht seems to help a bit. Try to put it up a work for about 30 minutes. That might ease the pain and put some cool washclothes on it. You might want to try to put some ice on it. Hope you get to feeling better. if your are diebetic my docs told me that they meed to use a diffferent form of treatment....
