Don
I had similar allergy symptoms when a child and teenager. I could run all day without any wheezing or sneezing but when I went to bed from 11pm to 3am I started to get asthma-like symptoms, wheezing and hardly able to breathe and lots of heavy yellow phlegm. My parents didn't know it was allergy/asthma so never took me to a doctor. Only when I joined the army and left home did the allergies go away. It was only many years later that I found that the culprit was the row of Oleander bushes my father had planted right outside my bedroom window. Oleander is poisonous and somehow at night the scent from its leaves and flowers gave me the allergy. Suggest you check if there are any plants or flowers outside the child's window that may have strong scents or may possibly be allergy producing. If so, remove them and see if it makes a difference. Also, try some fish oil capsules such as cod liver oil capsules or salmon oil from the health food or drug store. The fish oils seem to ward off allergies. Buy the books by Jean Carper available in book stores, she prescribes natural remedies.First, I would check your plants and second try the fish oil, if it doesn't work, you can use them yourself for heart health.
