As a child I suffered with croup for many years and was even sick enough to be hospitalized at age 5 for a full week. It wasn't until I was in my twenty's that I was told I had upper airway reactive disease or bronchial asthma. This is totally managable with some environmental changes and some medication. Please consider having your some evaluated for asthma. An allergist is the best doctor to see for this. For some reason pediatricians often fail to pick up on childhood allergies and asthma.
