I had this surgery in 1992 for Dysplasia. I do rememeber it taking a long time to heal and "feel" better but my period returned right away. I had a problems with bleeding and my cervix had to be cauterized, which hurts very much. I would call your doctor about your periods! But...on a positive note..I have not had a return of these pre-cancerous cells since that time. so the pain was worth the peace of mind! good Luck!
