Our son has scoliosis-S curve- his lumbar curve is 36 and thorasic is 42. For some strange reason his lumbar has improved from 46 to 36. I am guessing he has gone thru a growth spurt. He has been braced for 2yrs. My question concerns the surgery. After surgeery how limited are you in movement? Can you tell you have had surgery by looking at you? Can you move around freeely? Can you swim and do flip turns? can you tell that your vertebrae are fused. We are at the point that he is on the borderline for surgery. he experiences a little back pain with activity such as running during soccar. He swims competively and needs to do flip turns. Any help with others' experiences would be appreciated.
