I am 24 and have had hypoglycemia for 6 years. I am not a diabetic and do not have thyroid problems either. I have had 2 hypogylcemic seizures that occured with no real warning. I just recently learned that hypoglycemia can possible cause a coma or even death. I have been to 2 different doctors and neither one warned me about the seriousness of hypoglycemia. Numerous women in my family have hypoglycemia and I am the only one who has had a seizure. Where should I turn for better information and have you had a seizure ? If so do you keep emergancy medication on hand or what do you do when you have a seizure? I have always told the people in my life that if I have a seizure not to call EMS because I thought you always came out of it and would be fine because I was never warned of the seriousness. HELP!
