You have just described The symptoms that I suffered before a doctor discovered that I had diverticulitis which is caused by stress. To use an old expression you "get your bowels in a knot".It can develop into sceptocema(?) and ultimately kill you. When I get an attack I have to take a course of antibiotics to clear up the infection caused by food being caught in a small pocket in the intestine, the muscle tenses closing off the normal flow of foods. Try to avoid stress and as soon as the symptoms start try to relax your stomach muscles by breathing deeply to the bottom of your stomach. It works for me.But see your doctor for those antibiotics.Good luck
