I had rhuematic fever when I was a child, but I never knew it until recently. I am 23, I have to have my mitral valve replaced. What is the surgery like? how long does it take to get better? does it hurt very badly? How long were you in the hospital? Have you ever had a valveoplasty? Did you ever take Cumadin? Can you do all the things you used to do, like Ski? I have so many questions that doctors can't answer for me. I am scared out of my mind I just want this surgery over so I can breath and do the stuff I like to do. Do you have pulmonary hypertension too?
