                        I was first diagnosed with Tonsilitis approx. 18 months ago.  This was followed by antibiotic treatment.  However, what I thought was an extremely bad bout of tonsilitis returned a month later.  Again I was given antibiotics.  However, they did nothing and I was left with a low grade fever and pains in my arms, wrists, hands, knees, legs, ankles and feet.  I went several times to see a rheumatologist with suspected RA after several positive blood tests.  Thankfully it was not.  However, continual blood tests over the coming months also showed positive.  Eventually, I was told I had post-streptoccal bacterial arthritis which is apparently a modern day rheumatic fever.  I do not have redness or swelling but 18 months on, the pain will not go especially in my knees and feet.  I was put on antibiotics for a month which had no effect and neither did the anti-inflammatories.  I am therefore resigned to taking high dosage painkillers continuously.  I would rather find alternative - I know of no one else who has suffered from this. They think is caused by a bacteria in my throat. Can anyone help??  Thank you.
