I had shingles on my face and my doctor told me to stay out of the sun, because the nerves that carry the chicken pox are close to the surface of the skin (run along both sides of the nose) and pop out in the heat of the sun or under stress. So my advice is to eliminate stress, and wear a hat and sunscreen outside when you go out. On the face is extremely painful because you can't scratch or do much except put calamine lotion on the blisters to cool them down. Hope this help!
