What you describe sounds more like Herpes. There are several KINDS of Herpes. Herpes Simplex, Herpes Zoster, Cold sores, and others. I have the same as you and have used Acyclovir for years. It is a Rx item. If caught right away, that stops it or them. If not, and sometimes I don't realize they have surfaced, it takes a few days. Generally, they pop up after a lot of STRESS! Herpes of this kind IS a result of Chicken Pox as a child. Shingles may be also, as my husband had an outbreak of THEM on his leg but they came on with no warning or pain. Once the breaking out is over, it doesn't usually come back, but gets painful off & on & can STAY painfull for a LONG time.
