I am 54 and was diagnosed with PMR about 11 months ago. I did well on 20 mg of Prednisone for a couple months, then went down to 15, then 10 and a couple months ago down to 7½...that dosage didn't work. The increased PMR pain in my neck and shoulders has apparently triggered migraine headaches (on the right side of my head). I had a problem with migraines about 3 years ago (prior to the PMR) and was able to get a hand on them with a strict high protein diet and about 16 different vitamins...then my cholesterol went through the roof and I stopped that. I am now back on the vitamins and a modified high protein diet (as my cholesterol is now very good and I don't want to mess it up again). My question is...is there anyone who has experienced migraines with PMR? I have read the information on Giant Cell Arteritis...and I don't seem to have those symptoms.
