The pain in the neck might be a red herring here. If your neck joints are worn and pressing when you lift your head back this can be causing vertigo. However, pain on the top of the head would indicate lower back which means discs in the lower back maybe pressing on respective nerves or the spinal column itself. However, my bet is that you may have sinus touble and inner ear trouble causing vertigo. I had this and I am ok now after doing the exercises and taking floxipan. Good Luck!
