I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 1987. My doctor recommended a hystromecty because of the severity of it. I was not able to lay my left leg flat on the bed while laying on my bac without it feeling that something was tearing my insides out. I also had constant cramps and pain. I had been getting borderline positive paps several years but the second one done about a month later always came back negative. When he did the hystromecty, he found that my left ovary was completly consumed by the scar tissue that the endometriosis formed and had connected itself to the outside wall of my stomach. He also found that I was in the undectable stages of cervical cancer. That is why I was getting the borderline positive paps. He removed my cervix and 1" of my vagina to make sure that he got all the cancerous cells. My doctor never mentioned that anything about abnormal cells. You need to talk more to your OG-GYN.
