I have a friend who is 40+ and first pregnancy. Dr. has told her her amniocentesis shows baby to have an extra chromosone 13 and that if the baby lives at birth it will die within two hours. She was told this is not Downs Syndrome nor spina bifida. She does not speak much english and was given very little else. However a week ago she went for an ultrasound. She told the ultrasound technician that her baby is supposed to die. The technician assured her that her equipment is very good and will find out everything. However the ultrasound came back beautiful. What does an extra chromosone 13 do to a baby?
