Has your child ever had the Chickenpox? Shingles are known to appear years after a person has had Chickenpox. It is actually the virus itself showing it's ugly face after being dorment. Shingles can be very painful as they can interfere with the persons "nerves". I had the Chickenpox that my daughter gave to me a few months ago. I read up on it on the internet. It's possible to get the Shingles if either the person was re-exposed to Chickenpox or their immune system is low. Also, has your child shown symptoms like "fever blisters" appearing on the skin? It could also be the Herpes I virus (same family as the Chickenpox). Did the doctor give your child any medication? I also suggest you do some internet research. Good luck!
