I have had (and been treated for)asthma all of my life. Now 50. I was diagnosed with sarcodosis 18 mo ago, 30% (approx) lung capacity. No oxygen. I live a normal life, do everything I've always done, just not as much. Some days/weeks are better/worse than others.Prednisone has a terrible effect on me so I take it very seldom. Just finished a 10 day "burst", the first in a year, that really helped my breathing. I am treated at the foremost respiratory hospital in the world which happens to be here in Denver. They do constant research into this and all other lung/immune system diseases. National Jewish Hospital,. The sarcodosis expert there is a wonderful physician by the name of Dr. Cecilia Rose. They have lots of information on the disease and very good people to help you understand it. Hope this helps. Sharon
