I have the same thing and also arthritis has set in. I have had one surgery that took care of my right leg, but was told they wouldn't do surgery to help the other leg until the pain from my hip goes to the end of my toes and it is painful that I can't bear it. In the mean time, I have been put on vioxx which is an antiflammatory drug and it helps tremendously. I also see a chiropractor once a month or more often if I need it for spinal adjustments. He is wonderful as I have been doing this for years now. I have had the injection into my lower spine and it did nothing for me. They had to call in a specialist to do this and you have to be perfectly still. It scared me at first but it just burned, only it did nothing for me. I have shots in my hips and it was like taking a drink of water - it didn't help the pain. Nothing will stop the pain 100% as you know you have it due to your limitations in walking, moving, turning your head, getting in and out of the car. I had thought about disability, but if I can keep working in an office setting I can at least work for a few more years. However, I don't know what the future holds as it will always be a problem. I have to rethink my every day living situation. I know your pain. I am also a diabetic and have had a light stroke on my left side which gives me uneven balance. I stumble easily when I am walking also and wear down really fast when I am walking or working. You have to pace yourself. I can't clean house even close to what it used to be and using a vacuum cleaner is extremely hard for me. Good luck to you. Try to keep a positive attitude - this is very important.
