I have had a 10 sonometer cyst which dissolved itself. I did not want to bother with a laporoscopy because I was told it could come back again anyway. My 11 year old daughter had terrible pain in her right abdomen. After 2 trips to the doctor & 3 to the ER, finally a CT was done showing a 7.5 x 9 cm cyst. Hers turned out to be a Teratoma tumor, which the pathology report showed was luckily benign. This tumor grows when a cell try to reproduce and the tumor itself is full of teeth, hair, fingernails, oil, mucous and whatever other yucky stuff this cell tries to grow as a person but doesn't have the ability. She lost her ovary because the teratoma twisted before surgery & cut off blood supply but they were able to untwist it and save her little fallopian tube. She is fine today. Good luck to you.
