There is hope around the corner. You have to have patience and be optimistic. I have been on Prednisone for a year now. I had PMR for six months before it was diagnosed and once I went on the Prednisone I felt much better. I'm down to 4 mg. and have been pretty steady with my aches and pains. I feel good with the meds. At least I can tolerate the stiffness, swelling and even the mild pain. I started with a rheumatologist but I didn't like the care I was getting so I now go to my family doctor. He is tapering me very very slowly off the prednisone. I go down l mg. every 4-6 weeks and now I am at 4mg from 20. It's been very slow but I don't care as long as I feel ok. I'm always tired but that's part of this disease. You have no choice but to cope with it. Sometimes the muscles in my legs hurt so bad I have to stand up. I can't even wear a shoe with a 1" heel because I'm putting pressure on my muscles. The only exercise that agrees with me is walking. I too bruise very easily and my fingers and ankles were very swollen for a while but now they are better. Hope everybody out there feels good soon. Enjoy the rest of the summer.............Sandy K
