A close friend of mine recently gave birth to a baby boy, a seemingly healthy 8 pound baby. Upon birth, the doctors noticed a dimple like area on the outisde of both of his legs, between the knee and ankle. His forehead was wide across, and extremely soft in the back and front. He also had a cleft pallate. Doctors discovered that his legs were twisted, he had no collarbone, and was missing a rib on each side of his chest. The bones in the back and front of his head weren't fused together, and caused his head to be very soft and fragile. Parents were told that when the baby's teeth came in, they would probably be crooked. Deafness was also a possibility, but the baby doesn't seem to be deaf. Is anyone familiar with this type of "displaysia" or disorder? Doctors here aren't that knowledgeable because of the rarity of this disease. Thank You!
