On April 13 my daughter had very bad muscle spasm in her right arm it lasted about 2 hours. Since that time the muscles in her arm have been jumping constantly even during her sleep. She cannot raise her arm over her head because it hurts and it also aches and her fingers tingle if she leaves it down. She wore a sling for a while but that became unconfortable too. She has had an MRI (o.k.), lots of blood work (o.k.), 2 EEg's one normal and the other showing seizure discharge, an EMG and Nerve conduction (both found nothing). The Drs. have tried her on Flexeril, Sinemet, and Tegratol. None of the these medications have done anything for her arm but they are causing lots of other problems. She is very tired all the time cannot concentrate on anything, headaches, hairloss, and is generally getting depressed about the situation. There has been no absolute diagnosis. One Dr. says possible Dystonia the other says possible seizures. Up until April she was very healthy. No medical problems of any kind. Very bright a straight A student involved in music, athletics, and dance. This has put a damper on all of the things that she loves. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. She has been to several Drs. including 2 neurologists.
