My sister has something that sounds like what you have. She has pain in her thigh from walking which she used to do for her exercise but can no longer do because of the resulting pain. She is 65 yrs. old. Her condition is called Claudification (of the vein/artery?)sure). Normal walking activities don't bother her as much as a long walk would. I hope this helps.
