I agree emphatically with maria! I have had a non healing diabetic ulcer on my left achilles tendon for almost a year without any results from various doctors I have been seeing a wound specialist at a local wound center for the past 6 weeks and am delighted to say my ulcer is almost 75% healed! No more black! no more pain! Am almost done. Went from a 2.5 inch by 1.5 inch sore to about 1/2 inch sore which is pink and almost healed. Dr. debrided ulcer and used a dressing called TEGASORB on it and changed it every 3 days and it has responded in 6 weeks. AMAZING!!! P.S. I am also a type 2 diabetic. P.P.S.Have a doppler test on the circulation in your affected leg to check for blockage. This sometimes prevents a wound from healing. I had an angioplasty of leg to correct it.
