Sorry to hear about your daughter. I am 40 now and have had HS since 1977. There has not been and there is not much research being done because HS is nonprofitable. Not to many people have the condition to make it worth it for pharmaceuticals and others to try to find a cure or a top notch medicine. We depend on whatever is available out there. Surgery being one of main things when things have progressed to severe. On the positive side: There is quite a bit of info in the net about all kinds trearments, how to make living easier and other helpful stuff. Good luck
