I've had fibromyalgia for four years. After seeking the advice of atleast four rhumys. Three said I did have FM and one is not sure. He classified it as musculoskeletal disease; whatever that means. It was recommended to me only in the last month or so by my Internist to have massage therapy. After the first therapy session I was in much pain during the massage which intensified and lasted atleast two weeks. I had never been able to find out why I was in so much main during massage therapy and also for a time after. I tried a different massage thrapist 2 weeks later. I found that I still had additional pain particularly after the massage and a week and a half later, but it was not as severe as with the lst massage. I know this severe pain after the first therapy means something, but I would like to know if I was massaged too deeply by the therapist or if the bands of muscle had to be broken up, therefore causing the pain. My doctors are not telling me anything regarding this delema. I'm just trying to do what is right for me. After four years of pain it is hard to remain positive. Comments please. Thank you. J.W.
