Regarding fibromyalgia: Massage therapy is often helpful but for very short term. The studies have shown over and over again that the most helpful treatment for fibromyalgia at this time is to participate in a light aerobic exercise program starting with 5 minutes every other day and gradually increasing the time by 1 or 2 minutes a week until you reach 30 min. 3 times a week. The key is to start slowly and gradually increase. It is essential that your heart rate is in the target zone and the exercise is truly aerobic.
