Hi Phyllis, My first massage was a disaster! I was in extreme pain I would say for two weeks. I switched therapists. I now go to the Wellness Center at the Y. This massage therapist is also a physicial therapist. This last week I had two massages. I feel this therapist is better for me. I really did not have the pain, maybe just a little, like I experienced with the first therapist. I will continue as long as my insurance covers it. I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield. My doc prescribed only 8 massages for me. I feel I do not have as much general, over all pain since the massages. However, I did start on elevil, (amytriptyline) the same day I began these massages. So maybe I feel better some because of the combination of massage and eleval. Eleval is an antidepressant but helps with pain as well. I have been told this by my doc by I read it on the Net. Thanks and good luck. J.W.
