Hi, My father has advanced prostate cancer which has metastasized into his hip bones. He started of on a PSA of 26, 2.5 years ago. Using Flutamide it was reduced to virtually zero. 6 months ago it flared up again to 16, and they started Casodex injections every 3 months, in conjuction with the tablets. 3 months ago the PSA was 32 and the Casodex injection was replaced with Zoladex, which he had again yesterday. However, his PSA has increased to 44. He has bonepain, and is not sure what to do. Has visit to his eurologist tomorrow to find out what else can be done. Any advise as to how he should proceed and what to expect next? Is it still possible to reduce the PSA back to an acceptable level? Thanks for any advise.
