I too recently was diagnosed with DVT. It just so happened I had plans on going to Chicago to watch my daughter in a dance competition within the week of my discharge from the hospital. It seems to me that someone had mentioned to me not being able to fly. But upon my discharge the doctor did grant me permission to fly, and didn't instruct me otherwise. I too am on Coumadin. I was told flying is better than sitting in a car traveling due to the clotting factor. Good Luck.
