I've been informed by my Neurologist and Research Organizations that Stiff Mans Syndrome is progressive and the symptons therefor will vary in degree and kind. I was diagnosed with Stiff Mans Syndrome about 7 years ago purely on the basis of a clinical examination of reflexes, startle response, stiffness, occasional rigidity, falling and medical history, but it was only recently that I went to a Neurologist who verified the diagnoses with a GAD blood test. I recommend you have the same blood test, if you haven't done so already. I'm now taking medication-Depakote-which has lessened the rigidity and muscle spasms, but as in the case of all medications there are always side effects. Good luck, Herb
