JOAN ANDERSON
I AM 51 (FEMALE) AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS HYPOGLYCEMIC ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO. I SUFFERED FOR 3 YEARS WITH SEVERE MIGRAINES. DEMEROL WAS THE FIRST DRUG TO HELP....BUT KEEPING MY BODY RESTED, LESS STRESSED, AND EATING ALWAYS HELPED. I FOUND THAT IF I ATE CHICKEN (WHITE MEAT) IT WOULD HELP--THERE IS SOME CHEMICAL REACTION THAT TAKES PLACE. ADDITIONALLY, NEVER BE CAUGHT WITHOUT A SNACK WITH YOU--WHILE SHOPPING WITH A GROUP AND BEING POSSIBLY DELAYED EATING I WOULD CARRY PEANUTS (HIGH IN PROTEIN) AND NIBBLE ON THESE. NIGHTLY BEFORE GOING TO BED I ATE A PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICH. YOU JUST HAVE T0 FIGURE OUT YOUR OWN BODY AND WORK WITH IT. MY HEADACHES WERE SO DEBILITATING I WOULD BE BEDIDDEN FOR HOUR ON END. BUT WITH GOOD DOCTORS, AND FAITH IN A LOVING GOD -- I HAVE NOT HAD A MIGRAINE IN 15 OR MORE YEARS. EAT HIGH PROTEIN, LOW/MODERATE CARBS...AND RELAX. REALIZE YOU CANNOT DO EVERYTHING....WHEN I HAD COMPANY AND LOTS OF ENTERTAINING TO DO--ESP AROUND HOLIDAYS I ALWAYS HAD A MIGRAINE. SO PATTERN YOURSELF AND KEEP NOTES OF WHAT TRIGGERS THE PAIN -- AND TRY TO ELIMINATE THAT PRESSURE. HAVE A GOOD DAY!
