Concerning gall bladder diet. I had my gall bladder removed the old fashioned way- by surgery where the doctor opens you up and takes out the gall bladder- big incision. But immediately after the operation I could eat eggs- which had caused pain before. However, after the surgery I limited my fat intake to small amounts (eg- meat, lunch meat, butter, chocolate). Eventually, after about six months I could eat almost everything. I never had problems keeping the food down. Only problem, I could not eat cantalope without experiencing pain? That went away after about a year. It has been more than 20 years and I have never had any more problems with pain from eating any food. However, I still watch the amount of fat and food that I eat. I think anyone who has had gall bladder surgery should eat small amounts of foods containing fat for at least six months, then gradually work it into the diet. P.S. My doctors did not advise me on a diet after surgery, either. Good luck to you all.
