I have lymphedema, and it was diagnosed in May. It is secondary from an ankle sprain that occurred last November. The lymphedema was misdiagnosed as a continuation of the sprain until May. Will this misdiagnosis and the time frame, 4 months, of non-treatment for it, affect me in the long run? I am only 21 years old, and I walk a lot every day on campus. I am in therapy and wear a Jobst compression stocking. I also get massage and the mechanical compression about once a week. I only go these few times because insurance won't pay for it anymore, and my parents pay out of pocket. Any advice? What is this with infections? I have never been warned of that. Thank you! Tanya
