I've been on Asacol for a year. It took from September '99 until Jan '01 to get in "under control" and I'm still dealing with it. I was on Prednisone (a steroid w/awful side effects) for 2 1/2 months and several different enemas. Luckily, it's ok now but I have to take Asacol for the rest of my life, that's what 2 different doctors have told me and a few other people who have it have said. I didn't realize how common it is and I'm sorry for anyone who has to go through it.
