I was diagnosed with B in 1993 at age 33. I was exhausted all the time and sick most of the time. My new Dr suggested excercise and antibiotic (1 pill 3X week) as a manitenance. I did exercise but the real changes came when I started running in 1997-- very little bit in the beginning (I couldn't breathe). I worked up to running 10 miles a week and so on. I ran the NYC marathon in 1999 and Dublin Ireland in 2000 (both for Leukemia). These were miracles to me! I cough up a lot at 9:00am 12noon and at 3:00pm---a lot of mucous. My Dr and I have tried many options and now this antibiotic is down to once a week. I just started using a "flutter" aparatus to help with the mucous. I have my bad days but do not get sick nearly as much as before and I still run and excercise diligently. I cut back on dairy products and drink a lot of water and eat healthy. I also went to a naturopathic Dr and he gave me herbs to boil into a tea to drink a few times a week--very helpful. Good luck to all--I feel great!
