Linda has been diagnosed as having Costochondritis, also know as Tietze Syndrome. This is an inflamation of the cartilage where the ribs attach to the breast bone. Cause can be the result of a trauma to the rib cage, a viral infection or part of a inflammatory disease. Go to: http://www.allsands.com/costochondritis_tv_gn.htm This web site will give you more detail. Linda is taking an anti-inflammatory drug called Celebrex, 200mg 1x day. This may take 60 days to help significantly. Prior to this, she took Hydrocodone (codene) for the pain, but this can be pretty powerful stuff & shouldn't be taken very long as can become dependent. From everything we've read about & discussed w/doctors, it appears it may be a few months to clear this up. We beleive it is an inflamation & treating it as such. Hope this helps. Please let us know if we can help provide any further information. We wish you well & a speedy recovery. Sincerely, Jim
