I was diagnosed about a year ago with oral lichen planus. I actually dont' even know if I have it. One doctor told me I was too young to have it that it was one of my meds (Tegretol for seizures) that could be causing it. Then another doctor told me that I was old enough. Also lupus runs in my family and my doctor doesnt' want to test me for it since I'm so young and lupus seems to be almost taboo. I'm 21 yrs old now and very frustrated that I have it because I wake up in the morning sometimes with blood on my teeth and unable to eat the the food I love because of the dreadful lesions in my mouth and my gums are so sore. I've just recently been having trouble with my stomach and I may have an ulcer. I sware that I read somewhere ( I thought on excite) about oral lichen planus that I could possibly develop an ulcer in my stomach from the lichen planus but now that I want this information I can't find it. If anyone could help end my confusion please let me know. I find out next week (two days after Christmas) if I truely have an ulcer.
